Feel Good Plywood
Funded Apr 4, 2025Thanks for making this as painless as process as possible. The simplicity here is really gratifying. I just wish the district bureaucracy made everything just as simple. That's the power of people working hard to care about doing things in a sustainable, legally defensible, and auditable way. It makes them take longer.
Regardless, I'm excited about this project because the students are excited. That makes a world of difference.”

3D Printers to Design Fixes at School and at Home!
Funded Sep 6, 2023The 3D printers made last year possible. Every student got to design something of his or her own choice, measured the mass of the object, then did the calculations necessary to find out where to balance their object. That was the mandatory part of their use, but the fun part came around the margins.
I had students design different classroom tools for us. My projector remote is currently being held by a student design. Students worked hard to build supports for magnetic levitation stands. My aerospace class designed airfoils and rockets and learned from the many that didn't work and the few that did.
It is our school's open house right now and there is a 3D printer in the lobby advertising our program and printing a student's car design. All the designs with specific measurements were my favorite as a teacher. Students printing something and then seeing it fit into place is one of the bigger dopamine hits I could give.
There was a student rushing to my class at the beginning of this year looking for his 3D print that was started on the last day of school last year.”
