• Calming Area

  I received the supplies to create a readers corner in my intervention classroom. The students were so excited to try out the new reading chairs. The students commented that the chairs were very comfortable and fun to sit in. These chairs have provided a alternative warm and welcoming space for students to practice their reading.

  I use the chairs as an incentive for my small group instruction and the students are more engaged then ever. When the students are working independently, they use the chairs for silent reading, when working in partners, or when using their chrome book.

• Teachers Are the Best Resources

  Thank you for helping fund the Teachers pay Teachers gift cards for my classroom. Teachers are our greatest resource and these gift cards will give me access to the community, content, and tools to teach at my best.

  These resources will support my teaching and I will have access to the worlds largest catalog of over 5 million pieces of educator created content. These resources come directly from educators who have experience teaching and connecting with students. The content is relevant and will benefit all of my students.”

• Onward and Upward

  Thank you for your support to get a working printer for my classroom. This technology helps me support my instruction by allowing me to print supplemental reading material for my students.

  Since the Covid pandemic, students are reading below grade level and need additional supports to access the required curriculum. This printer allows me to create scaffolded high quality material that is engaging for my struggling readers.

  This has also been especially helpful for my English Learners because I can print colorful images that help support the content. Students have also been able to use the printer to create some of their own works to share in the classroom. Myself and my students are truly grateful.”

• National Board Certification

  I am excited to take this next step in my career to become Nationally Certified. Now more than ever it is imperative that we as educators re-examine our teaching practices and find ways to uplift our students who have been impacted by the pandemic. National Board certification will allow me to rejuvenate my love of teaching through connecting professional learning with classroom practice.

  Currently, as I work toward certification I am already seeing a difference in the progress of my my students. I am learning to better use diagnostic tools to help refine my teaching and make a more significant impact on student success.

  National Board certification is a one of the most valuable professional development I have received during my teaching career.”

• I Love Physical Fitness

  Thank you for funding "I Love Physical Fitness. The materials that we received for the project have really been a great help. I now have sufficient equipment to support my physical fitness classes. With sufficient equipment students are able to learn the fundamentals of a range of sports from soccer, to tennis, to basketball and many others.

  During the first session where the students were able to try out the equipment, you could see the excitement in their faces. They were use to playing the same games overtime we met during psychomotor. Now there is multiple types of equipment and the students get a variety of lessons in skill development. There is enough equipment so that the students are not having to sit out and wait turns. This makes the hour of class much more effective for teaching physical fitness.

  I have already begun to plan lessons for the upcoming school year. With this equipment, I am able to fully implement the physical fitness program for all grades K-5. The variety of ball sizes will allow my students in kindergarten through 5th grade to learn the fundamentals using updated and appropriate equipment.

• Current Events in the Classroom!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation of Time for Kids subscription. These magazines have given our students the opportunity to access current non-fiction articles. These articles have engaging material that are not only getting our students reading, but helping our teachers with classroom instruction. Many of the teachers are also taking advantage of the online access and using the material in conjunction with technology. Our students from Kindergarten to 5th grade are reading on a daily basis and increasing their understanding of non-fiction reading. These skills will help students with life long literacy skills along with problem solving and critical thinking. Again, thank you so much for your generous donation!”
