Funded Aug 15, 2024Let me first say a heartfelt thank you for your generosity. My students and I are so appreciative of your kindness. Thank you for paying it forward. The supplies that we received could not have come at a much needed time. Coming out of a pandemic, and where students still feel a sense of discomfort when their classmates are coughing or sneezing, these wipes were so needed. It make such a difference when I can give each student a wipes to clean their desk. This does make a difference in the way they react to a student who may have a sneeze pops out accidently. How handy are these wipes when juice spills occur, oh yes, very handy. Students do not have to miss instructional time to go to the bathroom for paper towel.
The additional supplies received, from pencils, loose leaf papers, birthday pencils and wrist brought such joy on my students faces, but nothing did it better than the fruit snacks. My students love to receive incentives for doing well, and therefore I reward and encourage them with a sweet treat now and then. There smiles were so much broader when I opened the fruit snack boxes. I believe that the lack of basic supplies should not be a hinderance in children's ability to engage in my lessons and so pencils and papers are always provided for those who may lack these required materials.
As I continue to provide the best possible learning environment for my students and I, I will focus on providing some tools to assist in building basic math skills. One such idea is to purchase about 12 handheld math wiz electronic hand games to use on skill days. This should help in bridging the gap that I have seen each year my students come to me from the elementary level. I am looking forward to the continue support from the organization in making this project come to life.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hall
