How to Plan Great Projects
Funded Sep 26, 2023I want to thank you for your gift of the new chairs and tools for the students at Ketchikan High School. As you can see in the first two pictures my students are sitting in the new chairs you purchased. They are designing projects for the community. One of the broken chairs is in the front of the architect tables at which they are working. It has no back and doesn't move well. The students love the new chairs and are very grateful.
Some of the projects that we have been working on are rebuilding a sweat lodge roof that had rotted and needed to be replaced. The elderly native woman who owned this lodge is well respected in the community and didn't have the money or the resources to complete the work. My students and I designed her octagonal roof and built it with materials we salvage and had donated. The second project was a desk that had rotted and the owner wanted it modified from its original design. They also designed the modification and rebuilt 2 decks and the stairs leading to them. They are now working on a chicken coop for a retiree and who has a predator problem. That will be complete in a couple of weeks.
I really appreciate your kindness and generosity with the donation of the chairs. It really makes the students appreciate the kindness of others. Not only that but most of the work we do in the community is for the elderly and those less fortunate who can't afford a contractor. So in essence you are helping our community as well. Thank you again.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lindquist
