  • Novels for Knowledge

    Funded Oct 7, 2024

Thank you for your generosity to my students. The eighth graders in English language arts have read "The Pearl" and "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck thanks to you. Each students was able to get their own copies of the novels so they could take notes and underline important passages. They were able to explore themes such as good versus evil and knowledge versus ignorance. They were also able to compare and contrast the two novels. This is all thanks to you.

Thank you for making a difference in the life of a child.”

    With gratitude,

  • The Wild Robot Book Club

    Funded Sep 22, 2024

Thank you you for donating the books "The Wild Robot". The book club is currently reading the book and loving it. It is such a heartwarming story and the students are relating to Roz, the main character and her ability to survive. They love having their own book so they may take notes and underline passages.

Without your donation of these books, this after school book club would not have been possible. My students and I are extremely grateful for your generosity.

Thank you for making a difference in the life of a child.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Manzo

  • Games for Lunch Time

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you for donating these games for lunch time. These games such as Monopoly have made such a difference to my students. They cannot wait to go to the game closet in the library to get games to play. I also see them working together, students that usually do not hang out together are spending time talking and playing games. It is such a delight to see. It is also good to see them taking such good care of the games and taking responsibility for cleaning them up when recess is over.

Thank you for making a difference in the life of a child!”

Thank you for being so generous to me and my students. I cannot wait to use these resources with my students and see them "take flight". Hands on activities are the ones students learn the most from and always remember.

  • Diving Into STEM

    Funded Dec 5, 2023

Thank you for donating these books to my students. I cannot wait for my students to read about leaders in science and engineering fields and get inspired by them. I want my students to see jobs in STEM as career paths that are possible for them.

  • Hispanic Americans in History

    Funded Jan 19, 2023

Thank you for donating to this project "Hispanic Americans in History." Because of your donations, my students were able to read about important people of Hispanic heritage such as Celia Cruz and Julia Alvarez. Some of whom they had not heard of before. The students were able to pick a famous Hispanic American and write a short report based on what they read about that person. Not only did they learn about a person of Hispanic heritage but my students became proud of their own Hispanic heritage.

Thank you for making a difference in the life of a child.”
