    I hope this letter finds you well! I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our reading project. Thanks to your contributions, our students have been introduced to a diverse range of new texts that have not only sparked their interest in reading but also helped develop critical skills that will serve them well in their academic journeys. Each book serves as a portal into different worlds and cultures, allowing students to make connections with characters and themes. They are learning to analyze narratives, compare perspectives, and engage in discussions that build their critical thinking and comprehension skills. Moreover, we are emphasizing the importance of vocabulary development and fluency, which are essential for enhancing their overall literacy.

    In our classroom, reading is an interactive and dynamic experience. We begin with read-alouds that captivate our students and encourage participation through predictions and reflections. Students then have the opportunity to explore various genres in small groups, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where they can share their thoughts and insights. This collaborative reading encourages not only a love for literature but also communication skills, as students discuss their interpretations and relate the stories to their own lives. We also incorporate activities such as book clubs and creative projects that allow students to express their understanding in different formats.

    I am especially proud of several students who have truly thrived with the new materials. For instance, one of my quieter students, who usually hesitates to share in class, is now excited to discuss his favorite characters from the new fantasy series we've introduced. He has even started a personal reading journal, which he eagerly shares with his peers during group discussions. Similarly, a group of students who struggled with comprehension have shown remarkable improvement, as they delve into the richly illustrated texts that captivate their imaginations. Your support has truly transformed their reading experience, fostering a love for books and a desire to explore beyond the confines of the classroom.

  • Promise of a New Beginning

    The "Promise of a New Beginning" project has significantly improved the classroom environment by providing newcomer or immigrant students with bookbags filled with school supplies upon their registration. This initiative helps to alleviate financial burdens on parents by minimizing expenses related to purchasing school supplies.

    As a result, students feel supported and valued, enhancing their sense of belonging and reducing stress associated with starting school in a new environment.

    This act of generosity also fosters a welcoming atmosphere in the classroom, promoting empathy, inclusivity, and mutual support among students and educators.

    Overall, the project contributes to a more positive and conducive learning environment, benefiting both individual students and the entire classroom community.”
