  • My Steam Classroom Needs to Be Ready for 2025!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Wow, words can not describe how happy and touched I am to know that you chose to give towards supporting my project! I am so excited to know that such wonderful people took the time to “step up” and help my students to become more effective scientists.. I can't thank each of you enough for your kindness and generosity. The items in this project will make such a difference in improving the learning environment for my junior scientists. I can’t wait to see their faces when the supplies arrive but more importantly I can’t wait to see the excitement on their faces when they realize that people outside of our side of our school support them and cared enough to give! On behalf of my junior scientists, thank you immensely!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ogedengbe

  • Mini Meteorologists Need Your Help!

    Funded Sep 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity and support for my junior Meteorologists! This will provide more opportunities for hands-on, naturally engaging and authentic scientific exploration. Thanks to your donation, my students will will be able to explore the world around them instead of just reading facts from a book. This is going to undoubtedly have a lasting impact on them for years to come. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

  • Middle School Future Zoologists Need You!

    Funded Nov 16, 2023

I cannot say enough how much my junior scientists and I appreciate you and your generosity! You have made our classroom much, much "cooler", according to one of my 6th grade students. Words can truly not express how much this means to us!

So far, we have assembled the enclosure for our new bearded dragon whom the kids voted to name Mango and we were able to give our red-eared slider, Turbo, an upgraded tank and accessories to help make him feel a bit more comfortable.

The day that the box with the enclosure came, three of my 7th grade scientists volunteered to stay after school to help me assemble and set it up in the room. After a while, I just stood back and allowed them to take the lead. It was so rewarding to see them cooperating, communicating with each other and working collaboratively to build Mango's future home. It was beautiful to see them applying some of the discussion and collaboration techniques and strategies we've practiced in class. Although they ran into one or two obstacles due to them misreading the building guide, they were able to regroup and fix their mistakes without me having to take over again. This real-world scenario never would have happened without you!

I will end by reemphasizing how much you are appreciated for taking the time to make a donation to help make authentic science within reach of my junior scientists. I thank you immensely!”

  • Full STEAM Ahead!

    Funded Oct 3, 2023

I want to begin by thanking you, again, for your kindness and generosity! My junior scientists and I GREATLY appreciate it. My scientists were ELATED when I did a "reveal" of the contents of one of the first packages that we received from the order, which contained the roller coaster science STEM kit. A few literally jumped for joy asking for us to start building at that exact moment. It brought me such joy to see not only that they were excited about the donation, but also that they were joyful about learning science. This was an experience and opportunity that would not have happened without you!

I have thankfully been able to use many of the items from the project almost daily, such as the lab trays, energy stick, and classroom decor. The pictures I uploaded show some of my 7th graders using the lab trays as they explored phase changes and thermal energy transfer. In the past, I've had to use old food service cardboard trays that were warped for these labs. Now, because of you, my scientists have more suitable equipment.

Our next steps will be to explore the other STEM kits as the year progresses. I'm very excited and proud that you and Donors Choose helped to make this year undoubtedly more memorable for my junior scientists. I will end as I began this letter, by saying again how much I appreciate you for your contribution to the love of Science in my classroom. Thank you SO MUCH!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ogedengbe
