Social and Emotional Learning with the School Social Worker
Funded Jan 10, 2025Your support means so much to this school! We are so grateful for your donations and for being part of this cause. With your help, we can reach so many students and support them in a nurturing environment. They will have a safe place to express themself, relax, and have a moment to process their feelings.
Again, thank you for choosing to make a difference in these students' lives! We appreciate your support more than words can express.”

Social Work Activites
Funded Aug 29, 2023Once again, I want to thank you for your generous donations. With your support, students have been learning about their emotions. Some students are non-verbal, and having mirrors with pictures of emotions makes social work lessons more interactive and fun. A group of students looked at the picture and then copied that same face. It makes them laugh but also helps them understand what emotions look like. That way, if they can not say how they are feeling, they can use facial expressions to describe their emotions, needs, and wants. Students have also used the coping skills toys. When students are dysregulated, I like to bring the toys to them. They have minutes to play with the toys and calm down before sharing why they felt a certain way. It gives them time to reflect and think about the events that occurred.
The students always ask for the toys and mirrors to play with. They seem excited and joyful about having materials that work for them. I will continue to use the materials in classroom lessons and individual social work sessions. Thank you again for your support. Students are learning about emotions, identifying emotions, and learning to self-regulate. My students enjoy social work time, and they get to use materials that are colorful, fun, and interactive.”

Hygiene Kits for Students
Funded Dec 21, 2023Thank you so much for your support! This means so much to our students and families. These supplies are basic needs; when students receive them, they can feel better and more confident about themselves. Many families are having difficult times, and providing these necessities can bring them some relief, but students can also feel more comfortable coming to school. Again, thank you so much! Your donation is making fundamental differences in students' lives.”
