Light Up Learning: Support Our Light Table Project!

Our light table has been a great addition to our classroom. It has created a new center of exploration during our play workshop time and a moment for the children to explore light and color in a hands-on way.

When the children first saw the light table they were very excited to use it. They enjoyed the different color options and had fun playing with the building blocks and manipulatives available.

Lately, we have been using it to learn and practice letter recognition. The light table, along with translucent magnetic chips, allowed the children to fill the letters with each chip and trace the path of the letter. Then, they used the magnetic wand to clean it up and try a different letter.

I love this light table because it offers so many ways to set up engaging activities for the children.

My next step is to get the acrylic tray to put on top of the table so that it turns into a sensory light table. Thank you all for your donations, you have made and continue to make our prek class happy and full of wonder.”
