Nature In A Jar
Funded Aug 17, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations! With your support, my students were able to create and maintain their own ecosystems. They were thrilled with the materials and eagerly took the initiative to design ecosystems that fascinated them. The excitement in the classroom was palpable as they explored various elements and concepts to build their unique projects.
Throughout the school year, the students will be responsible for maintaining these ecosystems. This hands-on experience not only enhances their understanding of ecological principles but also fosters a sense of responsibility and ownership. Your contributions have made a significant impact on their learning journey, and we are incredibly grateful for your support”

Funded May 15, 2024Having a crested gecko in my classroom has been a unique and enriching experience for my students. These small reptiles has served as an engaging educational tool, sparking curiosity and interest in biology, ecology, and animal care. Observing a crested gecko's behavior, diet, and habitat needs has provided hands-on learning opportunities. Students have been learning about the importance of habitat conservation, the role of reptiles in ecosystems, and the basics of responsible pet ownership. This direct interaction with a living creature has been memorable.
Moreover, a classroom pet like a crested gecko has fostered a sense of responsibility and empathy among my students. Taking turns to care for the gecko, such as feeding, teaches students about commitment and the importance of routine. Additionally, the presence of an animal has a calming effect, reducing stress and creating a more relaxed and positive classroom environment. Overall, a crested gecko has been a valuable addition to the classroom, enhancing both educational and social-emotional learning.”

Funded Apr 16, 2024Thank you for funding our project! We are utilizing the resources to hatch and rear ducks in the classroom, linking our knowledge of wetland conservation as ducks are crucial for maintaining wetlands. Currently, we are incubating Pekin ducks in the classroom.
The students were both surprised and thrilled by the supplies we received. They are eagerly anticipating the hatching of the eggs and observing their development through weekly candle checks. Initially, we had 11 duck eggs, but unfortunately, it seems that 4 of them are not progressing. This may result in fewer ducklings hatching, but we remain hopeful for a successful outcome.”

Funded Feb 14, 2024Thank you very much for your generous donation. I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation towards our community tank aquarium project. Your support is instrumental in helping us create a vibrant and educational space for our students to enjoy.
Thanks to your contribution, we have been able to acquire the necessary materials, equipment, and fish species to set up a captivating aquarium that will not only enhance the students understanding of how aquatic ecosystems function but also serve as an exciting experience that they will memorize for many years to come.
Your belief in our mission to promote environmental awareness and provide enriching experiences to our students is truly appreciated. We are excited about the positive impact this aquarium will have on in our classroom, fostering a love for marine life and conservation efforts.
Your support has been invaluable to us, and we would be honored to show you the tangible results of your generosity.
Once again, thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in our community.”

Funded Oct 9, 2023With your donations, my class has been able to create terrariums and aquariums in the classroom. My students were a very big help building ecological models of what we learned in class. As we build the models, my students were able to identify characteristics and concepts that were learned in class such as substrate levels, identifying organism as producers, consumers or decomposer, etc.
As we were designing and creating these models, my students who usually aren't engaged in class were showing interest. This project has allowed them to have a conversation of what makes up an ecosystem and how does it function to myself and their classmates. For now, we have set up 3 tanks and hopefully they will manage to self regulate without much outside help as we want them to be as close to how actual ecosystems function out in the world.
My students have been designing and competing on what the next ecosystem we should replicate. This has gotten them engaged in ways that I did not anticipate. I hope this motivation will continue as we plan our next project.”
