Body Hygiene: Keeping Our Body Clean and Healthy!

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your wonderful generosity. As a school nurse, I have the opportunity to go into classrooms and teach short classes that are related to health. Because of your donations, I was able to purchase a Glo Germ Glo Box Kit. This was a HUGE hit with my kids. They were able to apply the lotion to their hands that represented germs. We discussed proper hand hygiene, and the proper way to wash our hands. We then put our lesson to the test! After washing their hands, they once again looked into the Glo box to see if they had any remaining "germs" on their hands. There were lots of squeals, laughs, and most important....... lots of FUN!! I'm so excited that I'll be able to continue using this tool in the future as well.

I was also able to purchase hygiene supplies such as deodorant, toothbrushes, and feminine pads. I teach a growth and development class to our 5th graders where we discuss the changes their bodies will go through, and how to keep our bodies healthy and clean. I was able to provide deodorant to each student, and a feminine pad to each female. After the class, I actually had extra supplies that will be stocked in my office for needs in the future!

Again, I would like to sincerely thank you for your generosity. Sometimes a small thing like a new toothbrush or a small deodorant, can make a big difference in a child's day!”
