  • Getting Comfy and Cozy in the Calming Corner

    Funded Dec 26, 2024

    Thank you for your support. The project has facilitated students' ability to practice calming techniques especially during midterm and final exams. Students needed a space to take deep breaths and unwind. A calming space provides students with a space to decompress which they approached me multiple times seeking a resolution apart from speaking to a counselor or social worker. Thank you for your ongoing support. Due to your support students and teachers have been better equipped to serve the diverse needs of our students.”

  • Healthy Mind and Body

    My students are in a better place as a result of your contributions. Students received the mind and body nutrients they needed to become better scholars. New class projects are in the works to enhance learning and social skills. Students' reaction was wonderful. They were excited by the healthy mind and body project.

  • Enhancing Student Success Among Diverse Learners

    Thank you for your support. This donation has allowed me to better serve my students and their families. Parents and teachers have shared how more effective the IEP Meetings have been as a result of being able to use these planning tools. Our school community is very grateful for your contribution to our students' success. We have a high special needs population.   • Lunchtime Tutoring to Pass Class

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

    Students have been provided with tutoring resources that facilitate their learning. A Google page that was launched to provide students, parents, teachers, and educational stakeholders with access to tutoring resources including links to e-books, library and media services. The Lunchtime Tutoring program has facilitated communication with teachers and students.

    The next steps are to expand the program by partnering with other CPS schools to build the tutoring program using online resources. Since the program data shows Freshmen's and Sophomores' grades have improved schoolwide.

  • Science Experiments for Diverse Learners

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

    My students and I are using the new resources by conducting science experiments. For example, we conducted an experiment in which we extracted DNA from strawberries, bananas, and other fruits. We also learned about food chains and webs. My students were very excited when they first saw the materials. The pop-its helped my students. The next steps for my students are researching living things around them and building their knowledge of enzymes. Students are learning how enzymes function including how they make and build.”
