"Take Chances, Make Mistakes, Get Messy"--but Be Organized.
Funded Sep 23, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution to support the classroom needs of my recently immigrated students in Alexandria. Your thoughtful donation directly impacts the lives of over 400 multilingual students who are eager to learn and grow, despite the challenges they have faced in their journeys. With your support, we continue to create a calm, organized, and welcoming environment where students can focus on their education without the distractions of disorganization.
Your contribution provided essential supplies, such as pencils, whiteboard markers, and colored pencils, which helped students to explore their creativity. They were so excited when they received their own white board markers for brainstorming and practicing paragraph organization on white boards. I lend out pencils 4-6 times a day, so the pre-sharpened pencils have been a life-saver!
Moreover, the shelving and storage containers you helped fund have been instrumental in maintaining an organized and stress-free classroom. I am truly grateful for your commitment to these students and their futures. Thanks to your generosity, we are one step closer to ensuring every student has the tools and space they need to thrive.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Holevar

Funded Oct 4, 2023This is my first time ever having a project funded by Donors Choose, and I am so amazed and grateful that there are people like yourself who truly see the value of supporting students' education!
Even though it's already October, we have been receiving more students each week from different parts of the world. This has made the need for essential supplies such as markers, construction paper and pencils even higher. Because of your generous donation, I will be able to greet those new students with supplies to welcome them to our community and show them that there is always room for a new member of our class.
As we move forward into our Biography study unit, my multilingual students studying English will be using markers to create posters and draw examples of external and internal characteristics. We will also integrate white boards to encourage students of all proficiencies to share their answers to check in questions.
I am so grateful for your support, and I look forward to sharing images to show some of my students' final projects with you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Holevar
