Little Printmakers in the HOUSE
Funded Nov 10, 2024I appreciate you so much for how generous you have been to provide my students with various printmaking supplies. my students have a better understanding for these various art processes and are very excited to try different kinds of printmaking. They were amazed at all the different materials like foam trays, brayers, and inks. they had no idea they could be used to make serious works of art. In third grade we learned about various different printmaking processes, but dove head first into styrofoam printmaking, and my students made so many different art pieces. I am always amazed at the different compositions and subject matter they come up with.
In 4th grade, we dove head first into gelli printing. there are so many different techniques one could use when gelli plate printing, I could center an entire class on that one printing process.
in the coming weeks my students will be able to create collagraph prints, and also might delve into screen printing. there are so many possibilities int eh great big wide world of printmaking. thank you so much for helping us make these steps in our art room.”

Mr. Kaplan
Creative Materials For Creative Minds
Funded Sep 18, 2024we appreciate you at Crystal Hill elementary so very much. my students look forward to art class daily....even though they only have art class once a week. But they genuinely want to express themselves creatively, and they want to come to art class to learn how.
thank you so much for your donations and your support for the arts. in my class, ARt is not just a fun activity but a means of communication. we learn how express our feelings and emotions in art class. we also learn how to communicate ideas and imagery.
At crystal hill we thank you dearly for the donations of drawing and painting materials. I am a painter, so I love to express myself and teach my students to express themselves with paint and brushes. but various drawing media is just as important if not more-so important than paint.
Drawing is the foundation that painting is built on. With your support i am able to take my students through art processes like drawings that lead into paintings. practice sketches preparing for paintings. or a mixed media process where drawing materials co-exist with painting materials. in the end, my students will have a wonderful creative experience in my art classroom thanks to you and your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Kaplan

Funded Sep 15, 2023we sincerely appreciate your thoughtful donations to our school, crystal hill elementary. my students thoroughly enjoy drawing with various drawing supplies. We learned how to draw landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes in first grade; we learned all about Edvard Munch's "the Scream" in third grade; and the whole school participated in our annual christmas card design contest with a neighboring community business.
Right now, in 4th and 5th grade we are learning about shading and value by using different charcoal techniques.
Because of your generosity and love, my students have learned to express their ideas and creativity in numerous ways.
I cant say enough how excited all of my students are about art class, every week. but i can tell you that they have you to thank for it.”

Painting Projects Palooza
Funded Aug 19, 2023In my classroom my students just love to paint. It's a fabulous creative outlet for everyone. when my students saw how much paint we had in the classroom, they all got very excited.
We just finished up a kindergarten finger painting project where they got use their fingers to paint on their papers. In first grade we used tempera cakes to learn about the artist Piet Mondrian and how he made painting with lines, rectangles, and squares.
With my third grade classes we studied the work of Pablo picasso and made our very own "Picasso Head". In this project we learned how to paint faces like Picasso.
With 4th grade the students worked on a large collaborative painting that is all about line, shape, and color. In this painting students were expected to work together to create a large mural sized painting.
With fifth grade students were given the opportunity to create an artwork all about eyes. Students drew practice sketches before creating a large painting. They took their time, filled the page, and added lots of details. in the end they each had a glorious and unique painting of eyes.
thank you to all of my donors. You really came through for my students.”
