Paying It Forward
Funded Sep 26, 2023This project has made a noticeable difference in students' problems solving conversations. They have had participated in lessons that included: conversations starters for getting to know others, managing your anger, setting and keeping goals, being a kind friend, accepting others who are different than we are, being aware of consequences both positive and negative, collaborating with others, what to do when you feel stuck and don't know how to make a decisions, how to reduce anxiety and worry and being patient with ourselves and others.
Social-emotional learning (SEL) skills gained in school serve as a foundation for success in the wider community. It can help kids navigate relationships, manage their emotions, and make more responsible decisions. When students develop skills like empathy, self-awareness, and effective
communication in classroom settings, they are better equipped to build positive relationships, resolve conflicts constructively outside the school.
These skills also foster: teamwork, adaptability, and confidence in diverse environments. The transfer of social-emotional language/skills from the school setting to the broader environment helps create a more compassionate interconnected society. Thanks for being a part of this!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lynn
