Thank you so much for supporting students through this "Basic Hygiene Supplies for a Safe Start to Learning."

Teachers do all they can to support learning and student achievement. However, many factors affecting student success occur outside the school building. Lack of feminine hygiene supplies creates hardships and absences for some students. Free feminine hygiene supplies (for at school or some to go) allow students to be clean, comfortable, present, and ready to learn.

Many families and students living in Fairbanks, Alaska, live in "dry cabins" and lack access to running water. Other students have reported needing items like deodorant, lip care, or dental supplies. Things like face wipes, body wipes, chapstick, and deodorants allow students to feel comfortable, clean, and ready to learn at school.

Thank you again for helping our school address the basic needs of students. We've created a shelf of supplies for students in need, stocked the women's bathroom with free feminine hygiene supplies, and left other necessities like chapstick readily available. With basic hygiene needs met, students are more likely to be present and ready to learn.”
