  • Turning STEM Items into Fun Multi-Subject Learning Experiences

    Thank you so much for your donations towards my STEM projects. My students loved the challenges they faced while working with each item.

    The Discovery crystal gardens were used to do several things. We used them in our writing projects. They have to write what they saw before we started, what happened as the steps were done in the directions, every change they saw as the crystals grew as well as the final thing they saw after the crystals stopped growing. We put that all together with their drawings of the projects into a really cool report that each student wrote a part of.

    I used the kit that the students could build animals as a cool down activity if the students got frustrated and needed to do something different to calm themselves before rejoining the class.

    The kits that the students could try to grow something based on the Mars cloning kits were a success, we did those in groups and students worked a their own pace for a certain amount of time each day for 2 weeks. That alone was their favorite project of the year.”
