Classroom Library Organization
Funded Oct 26, 2024Our classroom library has never looked better! For the first time since I began teaching in this classroom five years ago the library bins are brand-new and they all match! It's the little things! Not only this, but there are no longer broken pieces of plastic in the bins and I am no longer worried about a student hurting their fingers while checking out new books. The new SEL picture books have been a huge hit for students to read with their first grade reading buddies every week! And lastly, the new carpet really brightens up the library space and makes it even more welcoming than it already is! I could not be more grateful!”

Read Aloud & Read Along!
Funded Sep 23, 2024I wanted to thank you so much for your recent donation to our classroom. On election day, we held a class vote where students had the opportunity to fill out a "ballot". One of the questions on the ballot allowed students to vote for which read-aloud book our class would start next. They chose the Chocolate Touch! We used our new black space-dividers for privacy during the election (they will be used again and again during tests as well) and we are so excited to start reading our new book. Each student will be given a copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to follow along during reading and keep them engaged!”

2023-2024 Dream Classroom
Funded Aug 3, 2023Now that the school year has begun, all of the new materials are in full swing with regards to being used! The carpet squares came out on Day 1 for a read aloud "Ms. Nelson is Missing" and will be used daily for whole class math lessons, read alouds, and any other time that I want to get the kids up and out of their seats in a more close knit group for a lesson! The kids were so appreciative knowing that they were the first class with the new carpets!
In addition, the classroom "break space" has come together beautifully with the "sequins sensory wall" which as you can imagine, has been a huge hit! Paired with the new fidget poppers to be used in the same space.
The new carpet in the library has provided an alternate student work space where kids can go with a lap pad or clip board for some independent work. They love it!
Lastly, the headphones are beyond appreciated! With some beginning of year assessments coming up next week they will be so helpful to have for all students.
Thank you again so so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. MacDonald
