  • STEMing Away

    Funded May 7, 2024

    My students were very excited to receive these materials! We have used it every day in the classroom during our small center time. Students are able to collaborate and use their engineering skills to build endless items. We use it to close off certain units for example our nursery rhymes and have students use their imagination to build a certain task.

    The classroom bins have really help store and organize the legos for easy access. My students have also became independent by being able to easily put back our items into our bins.”

  • Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!

    We were so excited to receive our bug kits and clipboards . We had so much fun exploring these last couple of days specially because during spring bugs come out.

    Our butterflies were so much fun to watch . We watched them grow as caterpillars. We used magnifying glasses to conduct observation on what we saw. We saw them turn into their Chrysalis .

    We are patiently waiting for our caterpillars to turn into butterflies ! We can't wait to release them back into their natural habitat. This project allowed us to have hands on observations of our animals two by two units”

  • We Can Build It !

    We came back from winter break January 8, 2024. My students hadn't seen the exciting new items that were donated yet . When they came back to class today I was excited to share all the new manipulatives we were so lucky to receive.

    We usually do centers after lunch . I showed my students all the boxes and what each one is for. They were so happy !!! Usually sometimes I have to give a speech on sharing but today they all worked together in their groups to build things.

    Some things I saw today being built were rocket ships , cars , houses , animals , buildings!! This was exactly what I envisioned them using it for to create everyday items using their imagination and their engineering skills .”
