Holiday Care Packages: Fueling Hope and Happiness for MS Students
Funded Jan 23, 2025Our project, Holiday Care Packages: Fueling Hope and Happiness for MS Students, brought so much joy to our classroom! Thanks to the generosity of Linda H. from MO and DonorsChoose, each middle school student received holiday goodies like chocolates, chips, water bottles, and other treats. These small but meaningful gifts made a big impact, bringing smiles to our students and adding a little extra warmth to the holiday season.
Students especially enjoyed these treats during our science class, where they served as both a fun surprise and a well-earned reward for their hard work. Some of the goodies were also given out just before spring break, allowing students to bring them home and enjoy them during their time off. This project truly made a difference, spreading happiness and encouragement to our classroom community.
I am incredibly grateful to DonorsChoose for helping connect my classroom with generous donors and to Linda H. from MO for her kindness in supporting this project. Without them, this would not have been possible. Their generosity has brought so much joy to my students, and I hope that their kindness returns to them a hundredfold. Thank you for making a difference in our students' lives!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Yvonne

Funded Jan 1, 2024Thanks to your generous support, our science classroom in Savoonga has been transformed! With these new lab materials, my students are exploring science in ways they've never experienced before, unlocking curiosity and excitement.
The new lab materials have become essential in our classroom, especially for hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and critical thinking. For example, one of our first projects was a unit on the properties of matter and microbiology. Students worked in small groups using the new antibacterial kits to test the effectiveness of different sanitizers on various surfaces. The experience of conducting real experiments has turned abstract concepts into tangible, unforgettable learning moments.
When the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement! In our remote village, lab equipment like this is a rarity, so their first reaction was pure awe. "We're real scientists now!" one student exclaimed, and another was quick to don the gloves and goggles, proudly saying, "I feel like a scientist already." Seeing their joy and pride in their work has been deeply moving and has made every moment of this project worth it.
The next unit we're working on involves exploring environmental science and local ecosystems. With these resources, students can test soil samples, analyze water quality, and study samples they collect around our village. They're eager to apply these materials to investigate their surroundings and understand the science of our unique environment better.
Thank you for making this transformative experience possible. It's inspiring discoveries and empowering young minds daily!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Yvonne
This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Donor and 2 other donors.Hey! Even Cells Split!
Funded Aug 3, 2023On behalf my entire middle school science class in Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial School, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of Mitosis and Meiosis manipulatives for our science class.
Your thoughtful contribution has had a profound impact on our classroom and, more importantly, on the learning experiences of my students. The manipulatives you provided have become invaluable tools that engage my students in hands-on, interactive learning. Witnessing the excitement and enthusiasm among the students as they explore scientific concepts using these resources has been truly rewarding.
Not only have the manipulatives enhanced the overall quality of my science lessons, but they have also facilitated a deeper understanding of complex concepts. Students are not only learning from textbooks but are actively applying their knowledge through practical, experiential activities, thanks to your support.
Your donation has not only supplied materials but has opened up new avenues for creativity and critical thinking. The positive impact is evident not just in improved academic performance but also in the development of a genuine love for learning among my students.
I, together with my students, am immensely grateful for your belief in the power of education and your dedication to supporting schools like ours. Your generosity has made a lasting difference in the lives of our students, and we are confident that the skills and knowledge they gain through these experiences will have a ripple effect throughout their academic journey.
Once again, thank you for your kindness and support. We look forward to keeping you updated on the continued success and achievements made possible by your thoughtful donation.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Yvonne
