A Space for Everyone to Express Emotions

Thank you for funding our space where everyone can express their emotions! It is used everyday by different students in my classroom. It has been a huge benefit to my class and our social emotional learning. Every day our students come in and check in where they are emotionally. This changes throughout the day. During the day they can use a break card to use our "corner" to use if they need to.

When my students came into our classroom and saw the new "corner", they were so excited to see the safe and inviting space that they could go to to express their emotions when they were happy or sad. They can go and sit in the corner and have multiple seating options, and tools to use to help them.

I have seen an improvement in my students behavior when using the "corner", they come back to their lesson and they are ready to complete their work. After covid they came back with a lot of emotions and this has definitely helped them to express their emotions appropriately!”
