For My Future Scientists
Funded Nov 1, 2023What an amazing day!
The students learned about cells . . .eukaryotic, prokaryotic, amoebas, etc.
Then, we played a Microscope Mystery Game where the students had to correctly state whether or not the cell they were looking at was an animal or plant cell or something else entirely.
The new microscope slides were crystal clear and really brought home that there is a whole world existing right under our eyes. . .we just need help to see it! Haha.
It can't tell you how much your support means!”

Littles Learn Linear
Funded Aug 2, 2023I wanted to report that the Sphero Indi robotcars were very cheerfully received by the kiddos in our lower elementary.
By introducing the idea that algorithms are simply step by step instructions, given in order, to complete a task, the kiddos were then able to take that understanding and apply it to the color-coded mats that came with the Indi robots.
The kiddos started with the Sphero challenge cards. They were so excited when their car did what it was supposed to do, and when it didn't. . .well, the squeals of delight were just as loud. They happily tried again and again.
After a few rounds, they began to come up with their own linear thinking just to see what would happen. It was a giggle fest all the way around.
Thank you to everyone that made this happen.
You never know what future career was just jump-started!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Hughes
