Classroom Carpet
Funded Aug 3, 2023Our new carpet has been the center of learning so far thus year. Students race to the carpet during read alouds, morning meeting and phonics lessons. Our carpet, that has a map of the United States has encouraged learning and questions surrounding the USA. My students enjoy sitting on certain states when they choose their seats and some will mention certain cities that they know are in those states.
As much as our carpet is used during instructional learning time it is also an enjoyable place for my students to rest and play with their friends. I have seen them get excited to put together puzzles, build towers with blocks, race their cars and play with dinosaurs. Thanks to your thoughtfulness and generosity my students have enjoyed a new carpet that they are able to use throughout the school day. I can't thank you enough for caring about my students as much as I do.”
With gratitude,

Funded Aug 7, 2023I wish you could have seen the look on my students faces when they saw their very own magazines! They were so excited that they had magazines that they could read and even more, that they were able to take home with them and show their families. My students look forward to every Wednesday during our read aloud block when we get to read our Time Magazines together.
Reading about events that are happening around us have excited the children and started new conversations that they typically wouldn't talk about. They have learned new vocabulary and new concepts that have sparked interest in other subjects that they want to learn about. We recently read about scientists and all the different types of scientists that there are. Students were excited to read about the many different types and decide which one they were most interested in. It was rewarding to see the excitement on their faces and the genuine interest in new ideas.
I can't thank you enough for your thoughtfulness and generosity that has allowed my students this new avenue of learning. Thank you, again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Laffey
