  • Help Create A Calm Down Corner for My Pre-K Students!

    The materials supplied for my classroom calm down corner have created a space for my students to feel comfortable and explain their emotions without verbal conversation. My students love being able to pick out an emotion cushion or select a book to explain how they are feeling. This then guides my conversation with them.

    When we first received the packages the students wanted to open them as soon as they could. We all opened the boxes together and each student got a chance to see and use the materials. We then talked about feeling/emotions and how we can use these materials in our clam down corner. They were all very excited to use them in the classroom. Since putting them in the specified area the students use them when they have a need to express their emotions or as an area to explore new emotions/feeling through reading the books in a nice calming area.
