Growing & Showing Urban & Hydroponic Food Production

Thank you so much for providing the resources needed to purchase a color printer and GoPro camera to record the great things going on in Agriculture Education within Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The color printer allows us to make copies of plant identification information and include a realistic (color) photograph to better share and disseminate the knowledge the students are gaining with others outside the program and to create targeted newsletters and plant/growing information media. The GoPro camera is a luxury we would never have been able to afford. It allows us to not only take pictures and videos of our work, but it is the push we needed to get a Agriculture-based podcast going in one of our programs! So these items are proving inspirational in many ways, sparking new ideas and improving upon established practices.

The students plan to use their student-driven podcast to inform audiences about their on-campus plant production, discuss the value of natural, healthy foods and, hopefully, inspire others to engage in home and/or community gardening and eating more fresh foods.”
