Starting a Chess Club!

Thank you for giving my students this platform to help them grow. They enjoy learning and getting to know their peers in a different environment. The bond that they are building will enrich their school and academic standards. Students feel that chess is challenging and often ask for more time during lunch recess.

The Chess Club has yet to play with other schools, but we are doing well in our efforts to be ready for the next school year. Students are excited and have taken the initiative to learn independently and use free time to practice. It is terrific to hear student share their thoughts on chess movies, such as Searching for Bobby Fisher, a film I enjoyed as a child.

Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping me create this Chess Club, a safe, inclusive, and engaging place for students to share and find comfort in others with the same passion.”
