Social Emotional Learning
Funded Mar 12, 2024This funded project helped my students to grow their social, emotional knowledge and prepare for third grade. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many students have struggled with a vast understanding of social emotional skills. How to communicate how they are feeling, and how to process emotions with themselves, their peers, and their educators. Often times these are skills that need to be taught.
My school does provide a social emotional curriculum, but I was finding that my class needed even more lessons on social emotional learning. I saw what my students needed, and I took the initiative to get the materials to learn these skills. With the materials that you have provided, I was able to conduct daily social emotional lessons and work with my class to build not only academic skills but skills that would help them outside of the classroom setting.
Thank you so much for your generosity and the difference you have made to my class!”

Read Aloud
Funded Dec 22, 2023In my classroom I am trying to work with students to not only teach them how to read, but also develop a love for reading in them. A chance to read stories and escape from reality in every book. Reading is an opportunity for them to grow and develop, but also to travel to many worlds.
Reading has always been one of my favorite things to do. My class and I read every single day during a time of the day called DEAR. This means "drop everything and read." Some days I read to them, sometimes they read on their own, and sometimes they read in small groups.
This project has helped me as a teacher allow them to have a vast range of books to read and learn about. Have a diverse population of students; I want to ensure that all my students are represented in the books in my library. This project has helped me do that, so thank you.”

Funded Dec 4, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity. This project was a big one and everything that you provided is being used and loved in 2D. The rug is gorgeous and the students love it. It makes the reading corner so much cozier and more welcoming. The students love utilizing this space as a reading corner and also a space where they can calm down, and work through their emotions.
The stools have been a hit in the classroom as well. My students use them every day. We use the stools as flexible seating and also as a small group work area. These stools are great because they stack, and they are easily cleaned at the end of each day.
Thank you again for your donations, my class and I appreciate it so much.”

Funded Jan 15, 2024Thank you so much for the organizational tools that you have provided for our classroom. The students are always so excited when we receive a package in the mail with something new to brighten our classroom.
The stackable paper organizers are helping me be a better teacher for these students. Staying organized and on top of my lesson planning helps me stay consistent and make the best lesson plans I can for my students. They deserve the best and I am at my best when I am organized.
We have not broken out the chair pockets quite yet, but I am hoping to implement them after April break and the students are beyond excited. We have been discussing responsibility and taking care of our own belongings. This will be something that the students are responsible for, and they could not be more ready to take on this challenge to stay organized with me.
Thank you again for your generosity and I hope you know how much my class and I appreciate it!”

Funded Oct 18, 2023On behalf of me and my students, I want to thank you for donating to my snack project. The snacks have been very useful in our classroom here at CCSL. My students are no longer feeling hungry throughout the day and are able to have a snack if they are feeling low on energy or need a pick me up to help them continue to learn.
Now, when my students come into school, hungry or forgetting to bring enough food from home, I have plenty of options for them to choose from. This has been helpful to ensure that all of my students have the tools that they need in order to succeed and stay focused throughout the day.
One of my students favorite thing that we received was the big bag of mints. This has been a fun positive incentive for positive behavior and participating in class. My students are so excited when I take out this jar and get to share them with the class!”
