Wheel It Away
Funded Aug 22, 2015I've had the privilege to teach at an under serve community for my whole teaching career where resources are in great need. But with donors like you my students have been successful in this fast growing technology era.
Let me say that your generosity has brought smiles to many faces. My students were excited to learn that our projector also another donation from donors choose from a couple of years ago now had a "safe home," the new cart. We no longer had to connect and disconnect it every day and store it away to avoid any damage. The cart easily moves from one side of the room storing other daily used materials, such as our utility bin with student size white boards, markers, and erasers that are used for checking for understanding.
Although, the projector cart itself it's not a learning tool, like mentioned before, it is the new resting home to our precious projector that has been an amazing device that has assisted in PowerPoint presentations to teach basic fundamentals of a Spanish language such as, conjugating verbs, demonstrative adjectives, accent mark rules, all the way to analysis, writing, and critical thinking skills depending of the Spanish level. My students also conduct research, create PowerPoint or Prezi, and present autobiographies, biographies, country projects, etc, to their peers.
As a ten-year veteran teacher my passion has always been to educate the young mind and watch them become dependable and reliable citizens of their own communities. I have seen my students excel in AP Literature scores, graduate from high school, go to a four-year university and graduate. Taking into consideration the traditional African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child," you are definitely part this group. Thank you very much.”

A Projector for Presentations
Funded Apr 7, 2011I would like to take a few minutes to express my gratitude for your true generosity in donating a projector for my class. Working for a charter school and serving a low-income community can be a difficult task when teachers are at a disadvantage lacking many resources to prepare rigorous lessons. While at the same time the school's mission is to demonstrate student academic achievement, as well as graduate students ready for success in college.
With your contribution my class received a projector, which has allowed me to prepare power point presentations of a variety of topics. My students have also had the opportunity to research Cultural topics and present the information to their peers via power point presentation. As seen in the pictures, student's task was to work with a partner and pick a Latin American dish; they researched the country it came from, history, preparation process and ingredients. After all presentations the class was able to taste all dishes.
Thank you once again for allowing me to use different strategies to deliver my lessons and at the same time accommodate the diversity of learners. With the projector my students are more engaged, have the ability to use their verbal skills and have more fun.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Campos
