Approximately 75% of students in my classroom/school come from poverty. Many have very limited experience outside of the community. I try to give my students windows into the world around them whenever possible. I also have been able to let them ‘walk’ into other worlds with a few field trips. My goal is to give them as many experiences as possible that will help them become life long learners.
