  • "i Am a Math Person!" -the Students You Are Supporting

    Funded Aug 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom and my students! Many of my students are from low income families, so having them supplies available to use during class time has meant a lot to them. Something that I like to emphasize as a teacher is the importance of organization. Having binders, notebooks, gluesticks, and pens has contributed to better organization, which in turn has lead to more effective learning.

A recent project that my students did was create posters explaining different geometry topics (transformations, parallel line/transversals, triangle congruence, and triangle similarity). Having art supplies helped make this process more creative and the students enjoyed working with their partners to review for their final exam. Everyone was really engaged!

Whiteboard markers have been utilized almost daily to practice math problems and facilitate more engagement in learning. When students are able to have the ease of erasing their work, they have been more inclined to work on the problems! Red pens have also be used constantly to make corrections in order to work to further learning.

Thank you once again for your kindness in supporting my classroom and my wonderful students! You have made a BIG difference in education and the lives of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yang

  • The Glue that Holds the Classroom Together

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! My students and I are both so appreciative of your care and dedication toward ensuring our classroom runs smoothly.

Students find that grading their quizzes with a red pen allows them to clearly see their mistakes. Many students have told me that it has allowed them to become more organized as well. Whiteboards and whiteboard markers have been a huge contributor to gaining confidence in math. All of my students are eager to participate in practicing math concepts when we do whiteboard activities. Gluesticks have been amazing in allowing students to stay organized. This semester especially, I have emphasized to students to glue their notes into their notebooks each day! Students have found that when it is time to study for their tests, it is much easier to study.

Again, thank you for your generosity that has impacted and will continue to impact my wonderful students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Consistency! Collaboration! Creativity!

    Funded Jul 25, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class! My students have been using the journals daily as I give them time to respond to a prompt. Many students have told me personally how much they enjoy journaling before delving into content. They have said that it makes class more calm and helps them to focus better for the remainder of the period.

My students have also been using the other materials, like the markers and highlighters, frequently. Recently, I have my students create a transversals angles project, where students created a city with parallel streets. They were able to have fun with creatively coming up with street names and shops, while also showing their knowledge of transversal angles. The colors from the markers helped students to make their cities come to life!

My students are so grateful for your donation and will continue to use these resources throughout the rest of the Semester. Thank you once again.”

  • OMG: Organizational Mathematical Goodness

    Funded Jul 12, 2023

Thank you again for your generous donation. I am very appreciative of how I got to start off the year with so many materials for my students. They also felt extremely grateful to have been provided with all the essentials for success in a math class.

My students were so excited when they saw the materials! They love that they each get a math notebook. I have my students glue handouts and worksheets in the notebook. They are able to stay organized with a table of contents and numbered pages. It has been such a great asset as students study the concepts we have learned. The pencils, erasers, and pens have also been so helpful as students annotate their notes and correct their mistakes on their tests. Students will continue to use the materials throughout the rest of the Semester as they grow into math scholars.

Thank you for being a part of changing education for our future generation!”

  • Learning From Math Mistakes to Encourage Math CONFIDENCE!

    Funded Jun 26, 2023

Thank you again for your generous donation! My heart is filled with such gratitude and my students are so appreciative of these resources.

I am happy to say that my students have LOVED using the whiteboards, markers, and erasers to learn and practice math. Many have mentioned the ease of erasing mistakes and how fun it is to solve math problems on the whiteboards. Given that each student gets a whiteboard, marker, and eraser, their learning has become personalized. We have used the whiteboards on many occasions but one activity in particular that all of my students enjoy is when we play team games and they get to work out the problem on their whiteboards. I have seen many teammates help each other out when they are stuck on questions and students are able to instantly fix their errors.

Whiteboards are now a huge part of my math classroom. I keep them on a shelf at the back of the classroom and students know that they can grab one if they ever want to brainstorm or solve math problems. One such example of this is when I have my students complete homework online. This makes it hard for them to show work but the whiteboards have been so helpful in giving students a place to show their work before they choose or type an answer.

Your donation has made such a HUGE difference and is contributing to the creation of many math scholars!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yang
