Funded Sep 19, 2023Thank you for giving the students at Buffalo Public School 6 the opportunity to showcase their microscope skills. They loved being able to see the microscopic world using the microscope and on their computer screens. We talk about cells and the parts of cells, but sometimes it is difficult for students to clearly understand how all the parts work together without seeing the cells clearly.
The camera made it easier for me to point out key structures such as cilia in paramecium and multiple nuclei in amoeba. Students were also able to see cytoplasm streaming in elodea cells by observing the movement of chloroplasts around the cell. The images they took will be printed and hung up in the hallway for the other students to see. Hopefully, observing the natural world in new ways will inspire a new generation of scientists!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Tilert
