  • Classroom Library Expansion

    These books with plushies mean so much to my class. They stay displayed in our classroom readily available to every student. We often read the books and use the plushies as visuals to reinforce the lesson to each book.

    My students love when I change my voice to match each character in the books and move the plushie along with it. I will often see them mimicking my actions. This helps promote them to use their words to communicate and also builds vocabulary.

  • Flexible Floor Seating

    Funded May 2, 2024

    Thank you so much for donating to my classrooms flexible floor seating project. I received this package close to the end of the school year last year so we did not get much time with the floor seats last year but this year my students are enjoying be able to move around as they sit.

    When I first brought the package down to the classroom my students were excited to open the box and even more excited when they discovered there were bouncing balls.

    I currently have a project open to get outside toys for my students that will engage and encourage them to play outside more.”

  • Emotion Books For My SPED Self-Contained Class Grades 3-6

    These books have showed my students that having big emotions is a part of day to day living. This set touches on every emotion, including how to recognize them and how to deal with them.

    I used the stuffed emotion dots that came with the set as a visual that students can grab to help explain what emotion they are feeling. This really helps to tie everything they are learning about their emotions together. As you probably know visuals are key to a special education classroom.

    I have a reading center in my classroom and this set is at the top of the self. Students like to go to the reading center and look at all the books. They enjoy matching the stuffed emotion dots to the books.”
