Basic Materials for Underserved Students

This project was such a blessing! I am fortunate to say that not only do I have simple kid-friendly snacks that can be used when kids don't make it on time to breakfast, but we have also used them as rewards for student work, class competitions, and quiz reviews! Our new pencil sharpener is the star of the show and my team leaders at each table love their job of making sure the pencils for the table are ready for the day and sharpened to perfection.

My kids crave structure since they don't always get it at home and when we have the resources to maintain our routines in class, they respond healthily and positively. Our table caddies are full and ready for each class with an eraser, pencils for the table, and the pencil sharpener has its home on the back counter so that students have a central area where they can use it when necessary.
