My students are 1st graders. That means they are just learning how to be students. They are all so different and unique in their personalities. They keep me laughing. They say and do some hilarious things. They are also sensitive and caring. They comfort each other when one is sad or hurting. They love to hug. They are curious and inquisitive. They love to learn new things, as long as I make them interesting. Some of them are Talkative with a capital T. Others will not talk unless you speak to them directly. I have tall ones, and short ones. I have some that are go getters and some that need a little push. I have an amazing village of children from different circumstances that have come together to learn. I know that it is my duty to help them grow socially and emotionally as well as academically. In my classroom our motto is "Get Big." Students know that we are at school to grow ourselves in every way.
