"The Inheritance Games" Classroom Set of Books
Funded Dec 1, 2023If you're curious how I plan to implement these books into my classroom - here's how. During our school day, we have a class period called Academic Enhancement (AE) where we, as teachers, have the discretion to use this time however we see fit. I have noticed that there are some serious reading deficits among my students; so, I decided to dedicate this class period to reading. I plan on using "The Inheritance Games" to help my students overcome these reading deficits.
My students are so excited about "The Inheritance Games" books, and they have already started reading them this morning. I'm hoping that dedicating this class time to reading and giving the students reading materials that interest them might spark a love for reading and encourage the students to become lifelong readers.
Thank you so much for donating to my class project - "The Inheritance Games" Classroom Set of Books. My students and I are so grateful that you were able to contribute to this project and we appreciate it so much.”
With gratitude,

"Daughter of the Deep" Classroom Set of Books
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you so much for your donation of "Daughter of the Deep" to my classroom. With this book, I will be able to teach and reinforce reading comprehension skills and techniques that can be used across all content areas. Instead of reading traditional textbook texts, "Daughter of the Deep" will allow students to learn a variety of reading tools and strategies, such as difficult word identification and context clues, to help them understand an engaging and interesting text. It gives them a chance to "do something different" in the classroom and shows them that reading can be interesting and fun.
In my classroom, reading can take on many forms such as informational text and recreational texts. "Daughter of the Deep" will provide my students with a recreational text that can help encourage and foster a love for reading.
Yes, there are particular students who are enjoying the new books. When the books got delivered, I had students coming up to me and asking if they could go ahead and start reading them. I had planned on starting this reading initiative next school year but I couldn't turn down my students when they wanted to read. So, I have handed out the books this year and allowed for them to start reading "Daughter of the Deep" independently.
I cannot thank you all enough for the opportunities that you have given me and my students. Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Workman
