Bring Some Peace to Our Independent Reading!
Funded Sep 6, 2023We can't thank you enough for you generous donations. Having our project, "Bringing Some Peace to Our Independent Reading" funded, has changed the dynamics of our classroom. The students are more motivated to read and feel at home. As each package arrived, the students were so curious. When we finally received the last package, we opened everything up together. The students were so excited to unpack all of the resources and get started creating a welcoming reading space that everyone could enjoy.
Many of our students live in multi-family homes. Meaning there aren't a lot of quiet and relaxing areas to read. I felt it was important for their mental, emotional, and academic wellbeing that we create a calm, peaceful, beautiful space for them to get lost in a book. They need to develop a lifelong love for reading. Reading is essential in our daily lives.
The students, as well as colleagues, have shared with me that the classroom is more peaceful and relaxed. Some students told us that they feel more calm, so they're able to focus. They're enjoying all the different novel selections we have now. They're excited to read and they're determined to do well. This would not have happened without your support and dedication to education. Therefore, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in our project!”
