This Is the Way: WHITEBOARDS!

The whiteboards have provided more opportunities for students to engage in learning. We use them to illustrate stories we are reading, practice vocabulary, and share out ideas during discussions. Because I have sets in two different sizes I am able to group students in different numbers so activities are better adapted. One of the most fun things about using the whiteboards and markers is that students actually fight for certain colors of markers. It has added variety and some fun to learning.

The lights add a much needed mellow vibe to the classroom. Again, students like to choose what color will be on display so it's nice anytime students show interest and take ownership. We are now at that time of the year when some of my classes meet in the dark, never seeing sunlight, so having the LED lights adds a warm touch to the room. Many students request to turn down the fluorescent lights so having the added color lights makes it more comfortable.

It was such a nice treat to start the school year with some shopping!”
