Enriching Speech and Language Sessions

Funded May 10, 2023

I hope you are all doing well. I am writing to share the impact of your support in my classroom. As you may remember from my project description, I am a speech and language teacher and I work with students with many varying needs, including literacy, articulation, phonological awareness, expressive and receptive language, and social pragmatics. The materials you helped to provide my students help me to target those areas and students' goals in new and more exciting ways.

The alphabet soup sorters have been a big hit with my youngest learners with literacy and phonological awareness needs. We have made games out of collecting the correct sounds and matching them to the associated letter. The Webber articulation book has been invaluable in working with my students with speech needs. It provides visuals and consistent, functional target words, phrases, and sentences to support my students as they master each level and inch closer toward meeting their goals. And finally, the match and sort language sets have been excellent in sessions with my older learners. They cover a variety of key language areas, helping my students learn the concepts necessary to unlock and understand their classroom curricula.

As we begin a new year, I am excited and eager to introduce these materials to my newest students and continue utilizing them with returning students. From the bottom of my heart, thank you immensely for your support of my classroom.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Samyn
