  • Strengthening Brains with Physical Activity

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

    Thank you for your support of my students and their physical education. With your support we were able to purchase new materials for recess activities. The daily 30 minutes of recess are extremely important to students whose day is crammed full of reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Research has shown the benefits that physical activity has on increased brain function. As we strive to teach our students the needed content each day, it is also important that we help them get physical activity to keep their brains and bodies healthy and functioning.

    The students are thrilled to have new jump ropes, soccer balls, basketballs, and frisbees. These allow students to interact in a variety of activities during recess and also promote healthy competition as the students form teams to play games. Thank you for helping to ensure that our students have materials that help them take a break from the rigors of classroom instruction while also keeping them healthy.”

  • Fired-Up Field Day: Work Hard, Play Hard

    Funded May 11, 2023

    Thank you for your generous support in helping to make our Field Day a success! For some of our students, field day was a brand new experience. This was the first opportunity that we had to hold field day since before Covid. Students had no idea what to expect. We were so excited to be able to introduce them to all of the new activities.

    For other students, this was a return of field day and your support helped us purchase new materials so that we could enhance our activities. Students loved the inner-tube races, where they had to gather up the inner tubes and race back to the starting line. The "hamster wheel" helped students work as teams to move down to a finish line. There were lots of cheers and smiles all around.

    Field Day was a wonderful day of allowing our students to just be kids after a long year of learning and testing. We truly appreciate your donations that allowed us to provide this day for our students.”
