• Snacks Help Us Focus

  Thank you so much for the generous donations to my project. Because of your generosity, I was able to give my students snacks during important testing and fun activities as part of a reward. They enjoyed the chips, drinks, cookies, etc. and were all a hit with my 8th grade population!

  It is because of donors like that teachers like me are able to give students "extras" like this that the school system can just not afford. I am so grateful to be able to give my students rewards that they like and enjoy- it is so much more motivating.”

• Book Corner!

  Thank you so much for the generous donations towards this project. My students have been enjoying reading interesting material that is making learning, and more specifically, social studies' topics, fun! They enjoy sitting in our book corner or signing books out to take home and try out on their own. Graphic novels are the perfect way to teach topics that aren't always inherently interesting to them and the shelf to help create this book corner was so needed.

  It is because of donors like you that teachers like me are able to provide high quality materials that school systems just can't afford. Your generosity is much appreciated.”

• History: Read All About It!

  Funded Aug 9, 2023

  Thank you so much for the support in making this project happen. Although there was a delay in shipping and the books did not arrive until recently, they all finally arrived and have been a source of enjoyment for my students.

  It will be great for my students to read high interest books (graphic novels, comics) that will teach them about history. They are more apt to pick up this style of book as opposed to a non-fiction story. It has changed the way we read about history in my classroom and I cannot thank you enough for the help in making this project happen.

• Supply Refresh

  Thank you so much for stocking my classroom for the upcoming year. My students come from an area of low socioeconomic backgrounds, and so they come to school with very few school supplies. In order to make learning fun and incorporate projects, we need art supplies like colored pencils, crayons, markers and the like. This project was instrumental in my planning for such experiences this coming school year.

  My students learn better with hands-on project based learning. Sometimes that means leaving our building and making presentations. Such presentations require complimentary posters and backboards that need decorating. Had it not been for the funding of this project, I would not have been able to sign my classes to participate in such learning experiences for the upcoming year. Thank you for your part in making this happen for my students.”

• An Inviting Classroom

  This week, I went into my classroom. It looked drab and boring. However, I then opened all of the boxes of items that were funded by this project and got to work setting it all up. What a difference it made. My room looks warm and inviting and I can't wait for my students to see the new and improved room.

  This project allowed me to put up warm lighting and help keep the industrial feeling classroom lights off. The new lights line my white boards in the front and back of the room. Additionally, I was able to decorate with faux plants that instantly made the room more welcoming and warm. The 3 inch faux tree looks pretty cool!
