Funding Critical Materials for Forensic Science Classroom Investigations and Experiments

Funded Dec 30, 2024

Thanks to your generous support, my forensic science students now have access to critical materials that bring real-world investigations to life. With the addition of hands-on lab kits, fingerprinting materials, and crime scene analysis tools, students are no longer just reading about forensic techniques—they're actively applying them in class. These resources have helped students develop key analytical skills, such as evidence collection, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning, which are essential in both forensic science and many other fields.

In our classroom, reading has transformed from a passive activity into an interactive experience. When students read about forensic techniques, they immediately connect that knowledge to hands-on investigations, deepening their comprehension and engagement. For example, after studying forensic entomology, students were able to analyze insect evidence in a simulated crime scene, making the science behind investigations feel both real and exciting. One student, who was initially unsure about science, has developed a passion for forensic analysis and is now considering a career in criminal justice. Seeing this enthusiasm grow, especially among students who may not have previously considered STEM fields, has been incredibly rewarding. Your support has truly ignited curiosity and inspired future forensic scientists!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Thompson
