Comfortable Collaborative Reading Corner
Funded Sep 20, 2024We truly appreciate your generosity in funding our project. My student were so thrilled when they saw the couch and pillows in the classroom. This area is used daily in various ways. It is primarily used as a reading area and during our Literacy Centers. Students enjoy having a comfortable space to sit in and collaborate with their classmates on class assignments, book chats, or just doing their daily journal entries after reading.
My students want to use this area all day long and they've even established a system for rotation so everyone gets a chance to sit in the comfortable space and it's not always the same students sitting there. I am so happy to see them enjoying the space and am excited for all of the future students who will get to enjoy it as well.”

Funded May 9, 2023Thank you so much for your donations and contributions to make our project possible. We appreciate you so much! Our students were so excited when we opened the packages and revealed all of the LCD Tablets for them to use. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of that moment but it was a moment to capture! They kept mentioning how it was their "first time ever seeing one of these tables," that they "had never had one before in [their] classrooms," and that they've "always had to use whiteboards or paper and pencil."
Students are always excited for activities when they know they get to use their writing tables. We use these tablets almost daily in our classroom. We specifically use them for Math and Spanish Language Arts, and some students even use them for drawing and pretend play during their "Fun Friday" free time. These tablets have not only saved us time when it comes to gathering materials and transitioning from one activity to the other. It has also saved us from having to constantly replace new dry-erase markers and erasers, because they've either been misplaced or dried out.
Again, thank you for making this project come to life for our students. It has completely changed how we do things in the classroom.”
