The Art Studio is where equity is visible. Every child has a strength, a voice, an imagination. In this space children have purpose and voice. All children also access healing and joy- as the the sensory of media and materials and creating is a necessity. We might be exploring injustice, Black Joy, love, indigenous land, or the Monarch butterfly through art, but really we are practicing the act of connection, dreaming a better world, and finding purpose and identity through "making". To create more of this, I would love a 2 sided clear standing easel that would facilitate spontaneous and creative expression and experience. I am also asking for a STEM display board which is an interactive 2 sided board where children can collaboratively draw out inventions and ideas together. We can also experiment with light projections on both pieces. There is even a peg board for tools! The continuing uncertainty of life during a pandemic calls for safe places of expression, justice, love, and joy. Please help make the Atelier/Art Studio even more meaningful for the children.
