  • Graphic Novels

    Funded Jan 30, 2025

Thank you for donating these amazing graphic novels! My students absolutely love them. For my multilingual students, reading graphic novels offers a range of benefits such as providing visual context that can aid in comprehension. The illustrations help convey meaning, making it easier for multilingual students to understand the narrative, even if they encounter unfamiliar vocabulary. Graphic novels often feature dynamic storytelling and appealing artwork, making reading more enjoyable and engaging for students. My students share these books in the classroom as they have become the most popular choices. I am so grateful that my students have these books!”

  • Accountability Time and Prizes

    Funded Jan 3, 2025

In the educational setting, accountability, effective time management, and the use of prizes can greatly impact student motivation, engagement, and overall success. Accountability teaches students to take responsibility for their actions and learning. When students understand that they are accountable for their work, they are more likely to complete assignments. Holding students accountable encourages them to set personal goals. This process fosters intrinsic motivation, as students become invested in their own learning journey. By using these methods, my students have been more eager to earn accountability time to play with Uno, the puzzle, the magnetic blocks and tiles.

A culture of accountability fosters trust between students and teachers. When students know that their efforts will be recognized and valued, it creates a positive and supportive learning environment. When my students show me that they are trying their best, they earn "bucks" and get to spend them at my store for these prizes they love. Theyre favorites are the Pokemon cards and the bouncy balls.”

  • Markers and Organizers

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for the markers and supplies! Markers and art supplies are vital tools in the educational experience of students. They offer numerous benefits that enhance learning, creativity, and personal development. Art supplies like markers allow students to express their creativity and imagination. These materials allow the students to color pictures of themselves, especially the marker packs with all the different skin tones. My students were especially excited about those.

I have students that benefit from using these materials for their fine motor skills, and helps them improve their hand-eye coordination. Activities such as drawing, coloring, and writing require precision and control, contributing to their overall physical development.

I appreciate all your donations to my classroom and allowing my students to benefit from being creative. Art provides a break from traditional academic activities and promotes a love for learning through exploration and creativity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DeBel

  • Art Party

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Art plays a crucial role in the development of second graders, offering numerous benefits that enhance their overall learning experience and personal growth. Engaging in art encourages second graders to express their creativity and use their imagination. This fosters innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for academic success and personal development. My students were able to have an art celebration using the water colors and Magic Model. They absolutely adored this dedicated time to having art especially because art provides a safe outlet for children to express their emotions and feelings. I look forward to adding more time to continue using these art supplies this year!”

  • Diversifying the Bookshelf

    Funded Sep 4, 2024

Thank you so much for these amazing chapter books. We have been using them during our independent reading time and for our homework log. My students are ecstatic to see characters who look like them! Miles Lewis had been a fan favorite for my boys, as well as the Stink series. My girls love the Jada Jones and have been taking these books with them during our breaks to read at home.

Reading is very important in my classroom. Students get to take books home and read in class. I love giving students chances to read during our center rotations, during breakfast, and if they finish their work early.”

  • Take a Bite

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

The snacks that were provided for my students have changed our classroom! Learning becomes more fun when students are engaged after eating a snack. I push for my students to have full bellies every day and it becomes hard when they do not eat the provided food from the cafeteria. Giving them choices and options makes them feel like they have a say and our classroom becomes a positive place.

Some fan favorites of our classroom were the poptarts, popcorners, donuts, and skinny pop. It was also nice to have these snacks at the end of the year for a special treat. The students work very hard during testing season and deserve a snack after!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DeBel
