Printing Possibilities: Bringing Color to Our Special Ed Classroom
Funded Oct 23, 2024This project made a huge difference in my classroom by giving my students the tools they needed to succeed. With the color printer and ink, I was able to create colorful, personalized materials—like visual supports, communication systems, and social stories—that helped my students thrive.
The color-coded materials made it easier for my students to follow their schedules and routines, which helped reduce anxiety. For students who needed extra help processing information, the vibrant visuals made everything more engaging and understandable. Non-verbal students especially benefited from the color-coded communication tools, allowing them to express themselves more clearly and independently.
Social stories with bright colors also helped grab the students' attention and made it easier for them to understand social situations and behaviors. This was crucial in helping them build social skills and gain confidence.
Overall, the project created a more structured, supportive, and visually engaging classroom. It allowed me to provide each student with the unique resources they needed to learn and grow. Thanks to the colorful tools, my students felt more confident in their learning, and I saw them make amazing progress academically, socially, and emotionally.”
With gratitude,

Funded Aug 17, 2024I can't thank you enough for your generosity and support! Thanks to you, our classroom has transformed into a more exciting, comfortable, and supportive space where my students can learn and grow. The flexible seating options, like wobble chairs and cushions, have been a huge hit. Students who used to have a tough time sitting still, now happily work on tasks while using a wobble chair, staying focused for much longer than before. It's been so rewarding to see my students more engaged and excited about learning simply because they have options that work best for them.
We've used the glue sticks and other materials for hands-on projects, headphones for focused learning on chromebooks, and laminated visual schedules that help students stay on track throughout the day. These resources have made a huge difference in our daily routine and are helping us tackle even more exciting projects. Thank you for believing in my students and helping us create a classroom where everyone can feel supported. You've made such a positive impact, and we're so grateful!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bavas
