    My students enjoy being able to come by my room to pick up deodorant, wipes, sanitary pads, lotion and paper school supplies with pencils. It's nothing like coming to school and remembering, you didn't have or use any deodorant. Females come to school and their menstrual cycle come on and they can't make it to the Nurse's office. They enjoy being able to shop at our little, but big school store. High self esteem and confidence. We believe that our students are Bruin Champions here at Orangeburg Wilkinson High School.

    We strived everyday to give them what they need to make it every minute, hour, and day. We are delighted to see the growth in self-esteem, grades and less bullying taken place at our school.

    We are a school where everybody is somebody, regardless of race, culture or creed. We develop champions here, so that they can graduate and move on to career ready college, military or open their own businesses. We are Bruin Nation Strong.”

  • Clean Up for Bruin Nation!

    Funded May 8, 2024

    My Bruin students were so excited to open their boxes of glue sticks, paper and essential body cleaning supplies. The male students enjoyed their dude wipes after going to physical education and being able to freshen up before the next class started. The word spread quickly to see Mrs. Allen for wipes and deodorant. My female students were happy to be able to pick up pads from my classroom without going downstairs to the nurses station. It was private and personal for them to pick up female supplies in privacy.

    The sessions that I do with my kids in a daily basis is very important. Being able to give them a snack while we talk was awesome!”

My students are indeed an unique group of smart, talented and athletics' students. They are inquisitive but respectful and have so much potential to be successful. Most of my students come from young single parent homes and do not have all the necessary tools that teens would to have. These tools are needed to make sure they succeed in their daily school classes. Many of them come from homes where several family members live there and they may not have adequate supplies for their needs. I believe in giving each student a head start to help them academically, socially and support their dreams. We don't want our students to be bully or feel left out. We believe in being champions every day.

About my class
