A Great First Instrument!
Funded Jun 26, 2023Oh, what a sweet sound! The youngest members of our chorus have already learned how to play a number of tunes on their donated recorders. They practice everyday at home for at least 15 minutes and come to school ready to shine! Our recorder program was piloted with a small group of students over the summer and our expanded program for the 2023-2024 school year is in full swing! Older students have enjoyed learning to play the recorder as well.
In addition to warm-ups and melody practice, students have learned to play "Eye of the Tiger" and "Consider Yourself" from Oliver Twist on their recorders! They are well on their way to being confident musicians thanks to your support! We are truly grateful for your generosity.”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Will There Be Snacks?
Funded Jul 2, 2023The snacks donated to our "musical theater pantry" have really gone a long way! The kids are always excited to rehearse, but the energy level has been "taken up a notch" now that their favorite snacks are involved. It is great to be able to provide a little "pick me up" when the kids need it, especially for those who are unable to bring their own snacks for afternoon rehearsals or performances.
The smiles on the kids faces when they are able to choose their favorite treat from the snacks donated is priceless. They are thrilled with the variety of options! The snacks not only provide a little nourishment, but also elevates the kids' focus, effort, and energy during rehearsals.
Thank you so much for lifting the kids' spirits and in turn, their voices! Our afternoon rehearsals are in full effect for the 2023-2024 school year and I hope to keep the snack momentum going. You've gotten us off to a great start. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and thoughtfulness!”
