I teach LifeSkills to high school students who receive special education services. My students require a multi-sensory approach in order to retain concepts and tasks. Due to their disabilities, they struggle with academics, social/emotional skills, functional/transitional skills, and daily living. Despite these challenges, they are driven by their goals to be better, do better. The students learn interpersonal relationship skills, decision making, financial literacy, housekeeping/cooking tasks, health/safety awareness, being a responsible citizen, and self-advocacy. They are funny, creative, spirited, and authentic. Their disabilities certainly let their strengths spread joy!
