Afternoon Snacks
Funded Mar 11, 2024Thank you for supporting our prek classroom this year! Due to your generosity, we were able to ensure that every child went home with a full belly. That is no small impact.
We were able to use the foods you provided to share about the importance of good nutrition. We discussed how healthy snacks give our body the fuel it needs to grow strong! We compared how are bodies feel when we are hungry vs. when we are full. The class took the time to compare certain foods and the amount of calories in the various snack items. The student walked away with a better understanding of the reasons to choose healthy snacks. We thank you!”

Prek Snacks 2023-2024 School Year
Funded Nov 29, 2023We are so grateful for the food and beverage items that were supplied to our class by your generosity. Since you provided an abundance of snacks for our classroom, we have been able to ensure that every child has a snack to eat before going home each day. To many this is just another snack that they are grateful to enjoy, however, there are some in our classroom that may use this snack to fill their bellies until they return to school the following day. For them, we are especially grateful.
We have also been able to use the healthy snack options as ways to spark discussion about healthy snacks versus unhealthy snacks. We have shared the importance of choosing items to fill our stomachs that will help with our brain and muscle development. This is a great lesson for them to begin to grasp at a young age. Your generosity is so appreciated!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 3 other donors.Pre-K for Snacks
Funded Mar 1, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our 2022/2023 classroom. Our students were so excited to learn that special snacks, water, and wipes had been donated to our classroom. You should have seen the looks of surprise and glee when the boxes were delivered to our door.
Our students enjoyed discovering new, healthy foods that they liked. We talked about how some foods are good to eat in small quantities, while others are healthier options that may be consumed more frequently.
As a teacher, it was reassuring to know that our snack bin was full till the very end of the year. It was comforting to know that every student left our classroom each day with a full belly. We are so grateful for your contribution.”
