How Important Is Outdoor Play?

COVID had a huge impact, not only in everyone's personal lives but in our classrooms too. Our Early Education Center is located on the same block as an Elementary, so when we were all hit by COVID we had to follow the same rules and regulations of keeping a safe distance. That lead us to extending our school onto the Elementary campus in order to provide services to as many children in our community as possible. With that, we had a huge yard to play in and not very many materials or equipment to work with. The children were able to run around, but didn't have much to stimulate their creativity.

Your donation provided the opportunity to help the children expand, not only in their creativity but their gross motor, curiosity and so much more. The water tables, baseball, golf kit, and rocket launchers provide the opportunity to learn math, measuring and distance. The stepping stones provide the opportunity for the children to develop their thinking skills on how to set them up in different ways to make it challenging thus helping them develop problem solving skills as well.
